hold this staff for me?

For when gailardia decides she has too much to word vomit, mostly concerning the Fire Emblem variety.

I know this is a plot-driven battle screen but

57 percent accuracy and 1 percent critical, but the enemy still criticals?

THAT’S FIRE EMBLEM FOR YOU.

I know a lot of people like poking fun at Seth every so often, but I think his loyalty and sense of propriety are really admirable. Let’s not even consider Eirika into the picture right now:

Valter: Such terrible wounds, and still he holds to his duty?

Sure, a lot of characters in Fire Emblem are like that - steadfast servants to their lieges. But this is one of the first scenes we see Seth in (like the second one) so it’s pretty much an exposition into his personality and what we expect to see of him. This fidelity comprises a huge part of his character, and I feel like that sometimes becomes overlooked. Of course, it’s not everything about him, but it should mean more to our impression of him than it might.
And so, it’s only natural that this extends into his interactions with Eirika. He knows that she’s a strong lady. It’s just second nature for him to be concerned at every moment, not only because of what he might feel for her personally, but also because of his duty to Fado and Ephraim as well.
Of course, I’m saying all this as I’m playing the game for the first time in years and don’t remember much of the script or what happens, but yeah.

I picked the perfect day to start FE8 again. Really. /sarcasm (But in all honesty, I made the decision before checking the tag and seeing what happened. I’m not gonna get into it.)
Anyways, I guess I’ll chronicle my playthrough? I’m not sure if I’ll liveblog it because I’ve learned that I can liveblog really stupid things but if you guys don’t mind I guess that’s fine too. But yeah, love for Magvel. Woohoo. Posts will be tagged #nessa plays FE8 in case you want to block my silliness.

I think I lost my copy of the FE4 ROM.

Even though I haven’t played it in about nine months and I don’t remember where I am any more (probably spamming the arena at the start of chapter 3 idk), I’m still kind of sad. I think I lost it when my computer crashed and I had to replace the files?

:(

In other news, I re-downloaded VBA and I’ll try starting up FE8 again. I never gave Magvel much love. Hopefully that will change?

Well, now that I’m on break

I hope I get to post more FE stuff again! I miss being able to do the little things I did with this blog. Granted, I’ll probably be occupied with a lot of video games this summer… but I’ll definitely try to make FE one of them. (Particularly Sacred Stones; I started a replay and never finished it, haha.)

In other news, I’m super excited about FE13… but I’m actually trying to avoid things because I’m delusional and actually want to wait and not lose the surprise element on things. Am I crazy? I’m loving everything I’ve seen so far, though! And I can’t wait to get my hands on it because THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

:)

Yes.

Nice guys totally do not finish last. :D

All he wants is for the people he loves to be happy, and whatever little thing he can do in that process is enough for him. It’s such a beautiful way to live life - seriously, if everyone were like that, the world would be a beautiful place.

This wasn’t me, but guys I’VE TOTALLY SAID THIS BEFORE. It’s actually scary how years ago when I was writing Oscar fanfiction that I realized how many beautiful redeeming traits he has? Yeah. This.

Alright, so that Fire Emblem Nuzlocke challenge thing I mentioned the other day?

I’m gonna go ahead and do one for SS, simply because SS would be easiest to test on.

Rules:

1. When a unit dies, they’re dead. No restarting for them or nothing. DEAD.

2. If you recruit multiple units in one map,…

Dang. Need to do one for Shadow Dragon.
That ‘one per map’ thing is going to kill me though. Some of my best units are on the same map… Hfbfjfkf

Sounds interesting! I haven’t played SS in a while (heck, any FE in a while) so perhaps after exams I’ll try this out. Keeping it in mind :)
